NHK, Nippon Hoso Kyokai (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), is Japan’s only public broadcaster.
As a public broadcaster funded by fees received from TV viewers, NHK delivers a wide range of impartial, high-quality programs, both at home and abroad.

NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories

NHK STRL is part of NHK and has been conducting a wide range of research and development since 1930 and leading the developments of HDTV, direct satellite broadcasting, 8K UHDTV, etc. Here, we present videos of an introduction to STRL and some of its recent research initiatives which we believe will shape the future of media.
