Bruno Flach is the Director of IBM Research Brazil where he leads a team of talented scientists, engineers, and designers working on areas ranging from artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling to hybrid cloud and high-performance computing. Bruno joined IBM in 2011, was the global co-lead for the Global Technology Outlook 2018 and has led / contributed to both basic and applied research projects across a variety of disciplines and industries. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Electrical Engineering Department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has been a visiting researcher at the Center for the Analysis of Risk and Optimization Modeling Applications of Brunel University, London (UK).
